Diveager Beach
Diveagar Beach is is located approximately 170 kilometers south of Mumbai city. This beach runs approximately six kilometers. At one end of the beach is a fishing settlement, at the other end is a sanctuary for migratory seagulls. The beach contains a number of Suru trees, which are common to coastal Maharashtra. The access to the beach has a dense cover of Belu trees, which are otherwise uncommon in the area. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has recently opened a resort here, which will have nearly 10 fully air-conditioned cottages. There are a few private resorts and home-stays out here as well.
A major attraction in Diveagar village is a temple of Lord Ganesh. It has an idol which is made of pure gold. This idol was discovered a few decades back buried along with other treasure. Diveagar is a popular beach destination along with nearby towns of Shrivardhan and Harihareshwar.
